JAZZED IN MARCH: RANDY BERNSEN AND FRIENDS PACKING

CINEMA PARADISIO.

Local guitarist/composer leads his all star band for a second concert at the

eclectic film/festival venue in Fort Lauderdale.

December 22nd 2009...tuesday night Cinema Paradisio sold

out!....Bernsen (jazz guitarist) and 9 piece band, gave their audience two

90 minutes sets of groove, melody and improv. March 19th...8 p.m. friday

night! Bigger and Better featuring diverse guests such as Othello

Mollineaux, steel drum extraordinaire, to David Shelley local blues hero.

Music will feature original pieces, reworked classics and a special tribute to

the jazz/world music band WEATHER REPORT. Bobby Thomas, jr. former

percussionist of Weather Report will also be performing.

Utilizing the venue’s patio, outside wine bar, and live video feed of concert,

local mixed-media artist Lena Luckey will continue on the with the art spirit

between sets.

Producer JERICHO JAMS and sponsors RJS productions, and The

Grateful Palate, invite everyone to bring their dusty, unused musical

instruments to the gig. These instruments will be later awarded to some

young, deserving student that can’t afford to have their own.

After show party will be held at the Grateful Palate wine bar 11:30 p.m.

Had 2 gigs in Mexico city!!!...went well and back later this year...also frist time in Queretero....performed at a rock club......we rocked!!!

Doing some gigs in Italy....July 22-Aug 7.....great time with friends here!.....back the 7th...looking forwrd to the Tavern 213 soooon!

Back in town...great to...be back...almost recovered.

on a flying trip upto the north east. Arrived in Bridgeport, Conn. yesterday...hopped the train to Manhattan...hooked up with some friends and went to the "Bitter end"...wow....Oz Noy, Will Lee and drummer.....WOW....back wednesday...........

in Cleveland untill monday on a flying gig. Wow...saw the rock and roll hall of fame for the first time....to see the Beatles stuff and Hendrix guitar and music, brought back feelings of when I was 12 first learning to play. Thennnnn....to go see the Cavliers basketball team play really took me back as basketball was my sport I played years ago....anyway...wrote some new music yeterday as I prepare for concert on Penang.........

Late July we started basic trax for new CD.
Went well!!!...first day a computer glitch set us back a few hours then we moved right along.
Peter Erskine played on the second day.....yesssss.
Lot's of guest artists...looking forward to working with Toots again!

For your ears........just made available 4 cd's.......busy!......one ...."Be still and know" is an acoustic guitar project I've been working on for some time.....meditative...."Blues hat dances 'round midnite" is more of a jazz trio record (whatever that means) I recorded a few years ago in Italy with drummer Steve Rucker and Italian bassist Onorino Tiburzi. After much encouragement, I recorded a Christmas CD , arrangements of the old standards done in a classical style. I guess ya got to wait for next season? And a re/release of my first CD for MCA/Zebra records..."Music for planets, people and washing machines". The first tune on that CD..... "Sir Yellow Bird" may be my favorite recorded piece to date.
